Kimberley McHone, 54, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend went for a walk in the middle of the day in the small town of Port Townsend, Washington on Wednesday, April 17, 2019. No one has seen her since. Just a couple hours later a text message was sent from her phone that the police determined was not written by Kim. In that two-hour window, what happened to her? Was she abducted? Did she have an accident and is out there disoriented? Did she run into friends and is choosing to stay away? Was she a victim of foul play? The questions are devastating to imagine, and gut wrenching to accept.
Her family are not strangers to grief. Kim's brother Scott was killed in Seattle a couple years ago. Her mother, Suzanne, is a resident of Port Townsend and is an activist, environmentalist, and all around wonderful person.
We have done everything we can think of to do. We talked to the Police, Fire Department, park rangers, camp hosts, local media, Seattle media, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, Nextdoor, business owners, residents, friends, strangers and anyone who will listen. We've gone door-to-door to see if anyone saw her leaving that day and could point to the direction she took.
We will use these funds to hire a private investigator to find Kim. If there are any remaining monies, they will be used as a reward for information to help find her. Port Townsend is small, 9,000 residents and it is at the end of a long peninsula. It is a destination and there are only 2 roads and 1 ferry. We believe an experienced PI will find her and uncover why she is missing. Suzanne has a fixed income and simply cannot afford the cost of a private investigator who will help expedite Kimberley's return home.
